Μέγκαν Μαρκλ: Κυκλοφορεί σειρά ρούχων για καλό σκοπό

Την ερχόμενη εβδομάδα, Πέμπτη 12 Σεπτεμβρίου, θα κάνει το ντεμπούτο της η πρώτη συλλογή ρούχων, για γυναίκες που ψάχνουν δουλειά ή για εργαζόμενες γυναίκες, από τη Μέγκαν Μαρκλ, δούκισσα του Σάσεξ.

Στόχος της συλλογής είναι να συγκεντρωθούν χρήματα για την ενίσχυση της φιλανθρωπικής οργάνωσης Smart Works που έχει ως σκοπό να βοηθάει άνεργες γυναίκες, ώστε να μπορούν να σταθούν αξιοπρεπώς κατά τη διάρκεια αναζήτησης εργασίας.

Spotlight on: Smart Works We are proud to be supporting a very special initiative this autumn for @SmartWorksCharity! After quiet visits to Smartworks over the last year, The Duchess was moved by the impactful work being done by this non profit organisation that helps women into the workforce, equipping them with both the skills and clothes they need to feel job-ready. Throughout her visits she noticed that while the donations were plentiful, they were also notably a combination of mismatched items and colours which weren’t always the right stylistic choices or sizes that didn’t necessarily “suit” the job at hand: to make a woman feel confident and inspired as she walked into her job interview. As a result, launching this autumn, The Duchess will be supporting a collective to help equip the women of Smart Works with the key workwear essentials they need as they enter into the workplace. This initiative is supported by four generous brands who share the vision to empower the women of Smart Works to look and feel 💯 as they bravely venture in to what can often be a daunting environment for those who have been out of the job market. The brands have come together to work towards this united force for good, “[reframing] the idea of charity as community,” as The Duchess writes in a piece for this month’s British Vogue. They will follow the 1:1 model where an item from the collection purchased is an item shared with a woman of Smart Works because “not only does this allow us to be part of each other’s story; it reminds us we are in it together.” For more information on how you can be part of another woman’s success story visit @smartworkscharity. Σύμφωνα με το παλάτι η πώληση της συλλογής θα διαρκέσει για δύο εβδομάδες και εκτιμάται ότι τα ρούχα θα κάνουν «φτερά» μόλις τοποθετηθούν στα ράφια.

Η κυκλοφορία της συλλογής ρούχων σηματοδοτεί επισήμως την επιστροφή της Μέγκαν στην ενεργό δράση μετά τη γέννηση του μικρού Άρτσι, τον περασμένο Μάιο.

Νωρίτερα φέτος η πρώην ηθοποιός ορίστηκε ως η Βασιλική Προστάτης της φιλανθρωπίας, με στόχο να προμηθεύσει τις άνεργες γυναίκες με ρούχα, να τις καθοδηγήσει και να τις παράσχει την απαιτούμενη αυτοπεποίθηση για να μπορέσουν να εξασφαλίσουν εργασία.

We are honoured to announce that HRH The Duchess of Sussex has become the Royal Patron of Smart Works. Today we welcomed The Duchess to Smart Works to meet our clients and volunteers. She heard their stories, dressed two clients and coached a client to help her start her own business. Whilst meeting with staff, clients and volunteers, The Duchess explained that “It’s not just donating your clothes and seeing where they land, it is about being part of each other’s success stories as women.” Kate Stephens, Smart Works CEO said “We are passionate about helping women be the best that they can be. Τι θα περιλαμβάνει η σειρά ρούχων

Η νέα σειρά θα περιλαμβάνει τα βασικά κομμάτια που χρειάζονται οι γυναίκες, ώστε να μπορούν να σταθούν, αξιοπρεπώς, σε μία συνέντευξη για τη διεκδίκηση μίας θέσης εργασίας, αλλά και όταν βρεθούν στον εργασιακό τους χώρο και συμπεριλαμβάνει, πουκάμισο, παντελόνι, σακάκι, φόρεμα και τσάντα, σύμφωνα με σημείωμα που εκδόθηκε από το παλάτι του Μπάκιγχαμ.

Όπως αναφέρει το παλάτι η φιλανθρωπική δράση της δούκισσας «αντικατοπτρίζει το πάθος της στην υποστήριξη των γυναικών και η δέσμευσή της θα βοηθήσει τις γυναίκες που έχουν ανάγκη στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο».

Μιλώντας στο τεύχος Σεπτεμβρίου της βρετανικής Vogue η Μέγκαν Μαρκλ περιέγραψε το όραμά της για το ρόλο που ανέλαβε, καθώς και τα σχέδιά της να ξεκινήσει τη δική της συλλογή.

«Όταν μπαίνεις στον χώρο του Smart Works, συναντάς στα ράφια ρούχα και μια σειρά από τσάντες και παπούτσια. Μερικές φορές όμως μπορεί να είναι ένα ποτ πουρί πραγμάτων που δεν ταιριάζουν τα μεγέθη και τα χρώματα, και δεν είναι πάντοτε η σωστή στιλιστική επιλογή. Για να βοηθήσω σ’ αυτό, ρώτησα την Marks & Spencer, την John Lewis & Partners και την φίλη μου σχεδιάστρια Misha Nonoo, αν ήταν πρόθυμοι να σχεδιάσουν μια συλλογή κάψουλα με περισσότερες κλασικές επιλογές για μια συλλογή ρούχων εργασίας», έγραψε η Μέγκαν.
