Μια σειρά από πλατείες φαντάστηκε και δημιούργησε το στούντιο design AMO – OMA για την παρουσίαση της ανδρικής συλλογής Φθινόπωρο/Χειμώνας 2020 του ιταλικού οίκου Prada.

Αφότου ανέβηκαν μια μεγαλοπρεπή σκάλα, οι επισκέπτες μπήκαν στον χώρο όπου παρουσιάστηκε η νέα ανδρική συλλογή του οίκου Prada,  ευρισκόμενοι σε μια ανυψωμένη πλατφόρμα η οποία έβλεπε δύο απαράλλαχτα κενά, καθένα από τα οποία μετατράπηκε σε χώρο με ένα άγαλμα αφηρημένης τέχνης στο κέντρο του.

Οι πλατείες μέσα στις οποίες περιπλανήθηκαν τα μοντέλα, σχεδιάστηκαν για να «εκφράσουν την αφηρημένη ενέργεια του δημόσιου χώρου», όπως σημειώνει το στούντιο design.

Μια σειρά από πύλες, τοποθετημένες συμμετρικά γύρω από αυτές τις «αυλές» ορίζουν το κατώφλι μεταξύ του «δημόσιου χώρου» και των πιο ιδιωτικών περιοχών του σκηνικού τις οποίες κρύβει η αρχιτεκτονική κατασκευή. Πίσω από αυτά τα ανοίγματα, δυνατό κόκκινο φως δίνει βάθος στην όλη διαμόρφωση.

Overlooking a palazzo constructed at the Fondazione, we were situated as voyeurs to the @Prada man, the archetypes of which are already well established. You could easily envision the models emerging from a glowing red light as businessmen, doctors, and academics of a parallel universe… a simulation even. The view from above of them shuffling about—first in orderly then chaotic fashion—certainly was surreal. Could this be what the future looks like? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It left us thinking about Hardy Amies and his costume choices in 2001: A Space Oddyssey—Heywood Floyd departing for space in a tailored suit. Even as man extended his reach toward the stars, he did so in what was familiar, tried, and true. Call it classic. The tension between progressive technology and the relative banality of life on Earth was similarly echoed in Ad Astra, last year’s big space picture. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Of course, nothing Miuccia does is as straightforward as that. Boxy suits and coats in nubby tweeds were subverted with injection-moulded rubber patches, some with layered waistcoats in patent shearling. Geometric printed silk sets with a uniform-like austerity in their mock-necks and concealed closures were in direct contrast with the casual ease of a pyjama. Nerdy sweater vests and lab coats lent an academic bend—are these the scientists creating the future that will become our everyday? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Heavy wader-style boots looked supremely of-the-now but are actually a reissue from the late 1990s, proving the point that there’s timelessness in inherently good design. Also notable were the cuffed trousers with ever-polarizing stirrups, but if anyone is to sway us, it’s Miuccia and that shock of the new that eventually trickles through the entire industry. Το πάτωμα των πλατειών έχει μια γραφιστική σύνθεση, η οποία φωτίζεται κατά τρόπο που να μιμείται τις μακρές σκιές ενός φθινοπωρινού απογεύματος.

«Η σχέση μεταξύ της μόδας επί σκηνής και του κοινού που είναι συγκεντρωμένο επάνω είναι ταυτόχρονα αποστασιοποιημένη και ηδονοβλεπτική» υπογραμμίζει η σχεδιαστική ομάδα του AMO.

«Τα μοντέλα περιφέρονται στον χώρο, εμφανίζονται και εξαφανίζονται ακολουθώντας αόρατες τροχιές οι οποίες θολώνουν τα όρια του εμφανούς και του συγκαλυμμένου».
