Rapid transmission of COVID-19 spreads fears as daily cases rapidly approach 2,000
Greece's National Public Health Organisation (EODY) recorded an additional five deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths from COVID-to 19 from the beginning of the epidemic
Greece authorities today announced 1,690 new coronavirus cases diagnosed in the last 24 hours.
Of these 64 have been traced to known clusters of infection and 35 were identified at entry points to the country, the National Public Health Organisation (EODY) announced.
The total number of cases in Greece stands at 37,196, of which 4,083 relate to travel from abroad and 13,107 to already confirmed infection cases.
A total of 128 individuals are intubated. Their median age is 65, and 92.2 percent have an underlying medical condition or are over the age of 70. Just 37 of them are women.
Another 286 patients have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the pandemic.
EODY also recorded an additional five deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number deaths from COVID-19 to 620 since the beginning of the epidemic.
The median age of those who have died is 79-years-old years old, while 96.3 percent had an underlying medical condition or were over the age of 70, or both. and 236 were women.
