The Uber application is now available in Santorini, with UberTAXI.

UberTAXI has been operating in Athens since 2014, while about a month ago the service started operating in Thessaloniki. From today, in collaboration with the taxis of Santorini, the global travel app is also available on the “jewel of the Cyclades”.

How customers access the application

The procedure to call a taxi through the Uber app is as follows: Enter your details in the application, which via GPS automatically recognizes your point of arrival. So, you pass your destination and choose the taxi. The request for a route is completed and after the driver accepts it, you are shown the estimated time of arrival of the taxi, the registration number and the model of the vehicle and the necessary information for the driver.

How taxi drivers can access the app

Taxi drivers can access the app in 3 simple steps: (1) download the Uber Drive app to their mobile or tablet, (2) create an Uber account, and (3) upload the required documents that show they are taxi drivers that have a special driving license. Once the latter is verified, taxi drivers can start receiving one-click route requests from any of the 90 million active Uber users around the world who have visited the city.

Uber has now become a global technology platform that facilitates 19 million daily trips to more than 700 cities in 66 countries.
