The Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport in Athens has joined in the national mourning for renowned composer Mikis Theodorakis, who passed away on Thursday at the age of 96.

Flags at Greece’s largest and busiest airport are flying at half-staff, while the inter-Schengen terminal has been illuminated with the colors of the Greek flag.

Finally, Theodorakis’ best-known works are played every hour in the airport’s musical program.
