Air passenger traffic for Greece rose by 77.7 percent in August 2021, as arrivals from abroad increased 82.6 percent compared to the same month last year, according to figures released on Friday by the country’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

According to figures for the first eight-month period, airports in Greece, for the second consecutive month over the entire period affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, posted an increase of 53.7 percent compared to the corresponding period last year. Compared to the corresponding eight months of January-August 2019, before any repercussions from the pandemic were recorded, the decrease was 53.8 percent.
