Olympic Marine owner – As we are first in merchant shipping we can be first in yachting

The big yachting exhibition, the Olympic Yacht Show, which opened its gates on the first day of October at the Olympic Marine, in Lavrio, will be open until October 5.

The boat fair is organized by ONDECK Events in collaboration with Olympic Marine SA, one of the best organized marinas in the Mediterranean. “I am very happy and proud that this effort is being made by so many professionals and so many exhibitors. It took many years for a similar exhibition to take place in the country. We, as Olympic Marine, with love for what is happening, offered our support because our homeland is the sea. The annex is the mainland. We are people of the sea and that is why we must support any such effort because this is the nursery for the later shipowners, shipowners. I started sailing and so I found myself at sea. Yachting is an economic bridge for our country and maritime tourism is a big part of tourism. “Thanks to the beautiful islands we have, Greece can become an international center of yachting and as we are first in merchant shipping, we can also be first in yachting”, said the owner of Olympic Marine SA, Mr. Gιοργοσ Prokopiou.

The Olympic Yacht Show aims to help boost the country’s quality tourism and highlight its potential in this area. “After four years of uninterrupted work, I am with people who share the same common vision. Our desire is to make the Olympic Yacht Show a dialogue center for professionals, designers, shipbuilders, lovers of the genre. That is, a multi-level communication platform in Lavrio and Sounio in a gateway and a base to the most beautiful island complex in the world “, said Gerasimos Gerolymatos, Director of ONDECK Events and inspirer of the Yacht Show.

At the opening ceremony, representatives of the political and business community of Greece were present. The Ministry of Merchant Shipping and Island Policy was represented by the Secretary General Mr. Evangelos Kyriazopoulos, while the Ministry of Tourism was represented by the Secretary General of Tourism Policy and Development Mrs. Vicky Loizou.

The Olympic Yacht Show is organized by ONDECK Events in collaboration with Olympic Marine SA, one of the best organized marinas in the Mediterranean. It is under the auspices of the Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy, the Ministry of Tourism, EOT, the Attica Region and the municipality of Lavreotiki.
