RCA 2021 – Greece is the second best tourist destination in Europe

Greece receives the “Silver Medal” as the second best tourist destination in Europe, during the 25th annual Readers’ Choice Awards (RCA 2021), organized by the publishing house “Worth” and the bi-monthly travel magazine “Recommend”.

The first place in the category was taken by Italy, while Greece shared the second place with Ireland. The Bronze Medal was awarded to Britain.

In North America, the first three places were taken by Hawaii, Florida and Alaska and in Asia-Pacific, the same places were taken by Tahiti, with Japan taking the third place and the second place being shared by New Zealand and Australia.

In Latin America, Mexico, Costa Rica and Belize share the three first places, while in the category of Africa and Middle East, the top 3 places are shared by 4 countries: South Africa, Israel, Dubai and Egypt.

The poll was conducted online from July 8 to August 31, with more than 135,000 readers of the magazine making their own choices in various categories, such as the best destination, best hotels and resorts, travel agents, cruise companies, car rental companies, airlines companies etc.

The Readers’ Choice Awards are conferred each year to countries and travel/tourism agencies and companies around the world that have established themselves in the field of excellence, while attracting the strong interest of the global tourism industry.

The results of the competition were posted on the website of the magazine, yesterday, November 8 (https://recommend.com/rca/2021-best-overall-destination/), while detailed information on the winners in all categories will be provided in the November/December issue, which will be released in the next few days.

The Greek award was received by the head of the Greek National Tourism Organiosation in the USA & Canada, Konstantinos Charokopos.
