Andros – Germans praise island’s cycling tourism

The German travel magazine “eBike”, which specializes in electric cycling tourism, likens Andros to a hidden precious treasure.

The magazine’s detailed six-page tribute analyzes, the alternative routes, the degrees of difficulty, the points of interest, while it sports rich photographic material and route maps.

The travel editors who were hosted in Andros last summer at the initiative of the municipality, say they are impressed by the wild natural beauty, the turquoise waters, the natural springs, the alternation of landscapes and scenery of the destination, the harmonious combination of the mountain with the coastal element, the unique historical monuments, monasteries, churches, but also the gastronomic surprises that the second largest island of the Cyclades has in store for travelers.

According to the journalistic team, the fact that Andros is still relatively unknown in the market of cycling tourism with electric vehicles, but has conditions for development and that the electric bike can become the ideal means of exploring the island, are elements of its charm, a destination for the discerning cyclist, who always wants to discover new experiences.

“Through targeted choices, we seek to unfold the fan of Andros’ potential, bearing in mind that in the post-Covid era the preference for special tourist products is gaining ground, while the need to expand the tourist season is becoming more intense,” the deputy mayor of tourism of the Municipality of Andros, Nikos Moustakas said in a statement.
