Safe Bulkers, is expanding into the capesize category by buying the seventh such vessel for $ 30 million. The ship will be named “MV Michalis H” was built in 2012 and has a carrying capacity of 181,000 dwt. Its purchase will be financed through the cash available to the company.

Dr. Lucas Barbaris, president of Safe Bulkers, said the company was growing its presence in the capes market by acquiring its seventh ship at a competitive price.
