Greece – Cyprus ferry connection starts on June 19
The trip will last 30 hours between Limassol and Piraeus
The ferry connection between Greece and Cyprus starts on June 19.
In particular, the company Scandro Holding Ltd (with an offer of € 15,594,000) has undertaken the Limassol-Piraeus line, with the first trip starting on June 19 from the port of Limassol, and the last trip of the season to take place on September 16, from Piraeus. The trip will last 30 hours.
The above was announced today at a press conference by the Deputy Minister of Shipping of Cyprus, Vassilis Dimitriadis.
The type of ship is a passenger ferry (Ro-Ro). This is the Cypriot flagged car ferry M / V DALEELA, built in 1991.
The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Anastasiadis, also referred to the issue, emphasizing: “The Government is implementing the commitment for alternative connectivity. After 21 years, our fellow citizens will be able to travel to Greece and consequently Europe by sea, transporting their private vehicles. At the same time, we are strengthening maritime tourism in our country.”
The characteristics of the ship:
– The carrying capacity is 400 people
– Includes restaurant, cafeteria and doctor’s office
– 38 1st class cabins (110 passengers) and 68 2nd class cabins
– 110 airline type seats
– Over 100 vehicles
A total of 22 routes will be operated. The first voyage is scheduled for June 19 from the port of Limassol, and the last voyage on September 16, from Piraeus.
