Greece’s relevant digital governance minister on Friday announced the creation of a new observatory to monitor and analyze hybrid threats, regulations governing 3D printing as well as the use of drones.
The observatory is included in a draft law presented to the Cabinet by Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis, considered as the most effective minister in the Mitsotakis government, according to opinion polls.
The draft legislation includes the prospect of courier services using drones for delivery of letters and parcels, something that the state-run Hellenic Post has already petitioned for.
The bill also includes a provision for a unified inheritance certificate.
Pierrakakis’ ministry has been credited with digitizing and making available dozens of transactions with state-affiliated entities possible online, with PCs, tablets and smart phones, the “gov.gr” initiative. The same ministry has been at the forefront of a digital transformation in the Greece, something considered as imperative during the pandemic.
