Attica Group: Aero Highspeed catamarans have set sail for Greece

In the first week of August, the three newly built “Aero Highspeed” catamarans of Hellenic Seaways, built at the Brødrene Aa shipyards in Norway, are expected in Piraeus.
All three vessels have been loaded onto the Dutch-flagged Heavy Load Carrier ‘Rolldock Sky’, which was sailing west of the Spanish coast in the Bay of Biscay at midday on Tuesday.
According to the Attica Group, a member of the Marfin Investment Group, the order for three state-of-the-art Aero Catamaran ships has been completed, which will be launched on the Argosaronic lines at the beginning of August and will cover the connections of Piraeus with Aegina, Agistri, Poros, Hydra, Spetses, Ermioni and Porto Heli with up to 17 daily routes, replacing older technology ships of the Group in the specific destinations.
The total cost of the investment amounted to 21 million euros and was covered by equity and bank borrowing.
“Unique travel experience”
As emphasized, the new, state-of-the-art ships designed with modern aesthetics in mind have been designed with innovative features that completely upgrade the services offered, providing the more than 3 million passengers who travel annually on the Argosaronic lines, a new and unique travel experience. Their routing, will increase the transportation capacity for the Argosaronic destinations , thus creating the conditions for the further economic development of the islands and local communities.
The ships have a maximum speed of 32.2 knots with a full load, an overall length of 36 meters, a beam of 9.7 meters and a carrying capacity of 150 passengers. The interior layout and in general the innovative design aims to offer the passenger high-level services, such as comfortable travel even in high wave conditions, spacious passenger living spaces, space for transporting bicycles, high-standard space for transporting pets.
