A group of energy ministry officials, including the relevant minister, inspected a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) floating storage unit (FSU) at the Revithoussa isle terminal on Wednesday.

The islet lies just off the western Attica mainland, west of Piraeus, the main industrial region in Greece.

The new FSU is ready to receive the first LNG supplies by the end of August, Energy Minister Kostas Skrekas said.

The unit will expand Revithoussa’s capacity to 375,000 cubic meters of LNG, up from the current 225,000 cubic meters.
