Dimand announced the acquisition of a property in Thessaloniki, where it is going to create the largest Logistics hub in Northern Greece, as OT had divulged.
In particular, as stated in the announcement, Dimand acquired, through its subsidiary “APELLOU ESTATE M.A.E.”, land with a total area of 35.56 hectares, at the 15th kilometer of Thessaloniki-Edessa motorway, formerly owned by the company “VALKAN AKINITA A .E.”, for a total price of 6 million euros.
The location of the property is particularly privileged, as it is 23 km from the center of Thessaloniki and 16 km from the port of the city.
On the property, DIMAND will build, in two phases, a Logistics complex with a total area of about 120,000 sq.m.
200 new jobs
The first phase concerns the construction of approximately 55,000 sq.m., within 24 months, while the second phase, involves a construction of approximately 65,000 sq.m., within 30 months. In addition, the installation of photovoltaic panels for energy production on the roof of the facilities is foreseen, following the preparation of a special study. It is estimated that the total installed capacity of photovoltaic panels will reach 12 MW and the total annual energy produced at 19,200,000 Kwh.
The total gross development value (GDV) of the project upon completion is estimated to be approximately €160 million.
The investment is expected to create 200 new jobs during the construction period and 150 permanent jobs during the operation of the facilities.
Nikos Dimtsas, Chief Investment Officer of DIMAND, stressed that “the size of the investment signals our belief in the prospects for the development of Thessaloniki into a trans-Balkan trade hub”.
