Ankara extradites the imprisoned father to Greece
As it was known from diplomatic sources last week, the prisoner has submitted a request to the penitentiary institution to receive permission to attend the funeral and his family was requesting the assistance of the Greek Consulate in Edirne, in order to be granted permission, for humanitarian reasons, to the said prisoner to attend the funeral procession of his relative.
Finally, the Turkish authorities decided to extradite him to Greece, to serve the rest of his sentence. The news was confirmed after the communication of the Minister of Citizen Protection, Takis Theodorikakos, with the Minister of the Interior of Turkey Süleyman Soylu.
In particular, the communication between the two ministers discussed the extradition to Greece, following a related request submitted by the General Secretariat of Anti-Criminal Policy of the Ministry of Citizen Protection, of the prisoner in Turkish prisons, Dimitris Nalbandis.
