Wildfires: Notis Mitarakis resigned as Minister of Citizen Protection

Notis Mitarakis submitted his resignation for personal reasons to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis by the Minister of Citizen Protection, which was duly accepted.
The current Deputy Minister of Education, Religions and Sports, Yiannis Oikonomou, takes over the position of Notis Mitarakis as Minister of Citizen Protection.
Yiannis Vroutsis, is appointed Deputy Minister of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, with responsibility for Sports issues, Cyclades Member of Parliament, .
As stated in a relevant announcement by the PM’s office, the swearing-in of the new ministers before the President of the Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, will take place today, at 19:00, at the Presidential Palace.
Information indicates that the former minister took a vacation on a boat in Patmos yesterday, and returned late in the afternoon to Athens, at a time when fires were being fought across the country.
As MEGA channel reported in the decision to remove him, his statements about the University Police were taken into account.
